Program Overview
Astronaut Discovery Course 2026
Participants in our PARSEC Astronaut Discovery Course undergo foundational training, based on training protocols used by space agencies, to experience the physical and psychological demands of spaceflight preparation. The course provides an introduction to a meaningful selection of astronautic competencies.
Aerobatics Training
High-G forces and microgravity are fundamental aspects of spaceflight. This module conditions trainees’ physiology to withstand the mechanical stresses of rapidly changing gravitational environments. Participants learn Anti-G Straining Maneuver (AGSM) techniques and gain hands-on experience with technologies used by pilots and astronauts, with certified aerobatic pilots.
Survival Training
Emergency landings are a potential outcome of any crewed space mission, making survival skills critically important. Our immersive training in a wilderness environment covers essential topics including shelter construction, navigation, water sourcing, foraging and nutrition, fire making, first aid fundamentals, and the use of basic survival tools. Training is supervised by certified instructors from the World Association of Survival Schools (WASS).
Fundamentals of Human Behavioral Performance
Spaceflight is inherently collaborative. Success and survival depend on effective teamwork and interpersonal skills. Our experienced professionals teach fundamental team competencies within the framework of Crew Resource Management (CRM), including stress management, communication, leadership, teamwork, cross-cultural awareness, conflict resolution, decision-making, problem-solving and situational awareness.
VR Simulation Training for Spaceflight Operations
Virtual reality training develops situational awareness and spatial reasoning, skills used not only by space agencies to train career astronauts, but increasingly across high-risk industries including aviation, heavy industry, public safety, and healthcare. Our VR simulations present diverse scenarios in extreme environments, challenging trainees to demonstrate visual and spatial memory.
Introduction to Risk Management
Space missions carry inherent risks. The ability to identify and mitigate these risks is essential in mission design, training, and most professional fields. Our veteran instructors introduce trainees to key concepts including risk identification and assessment, qualitative and quantitative analysis, risk mitigation strategies, all of which while developing an actual risk register.
Fitness Testing
Based on fitness protocols used by space agencies and militaries worldwide, our baseline fitness assessment provides trainees with a clear understanding of their physical performance and of the physical requirements for space readiness.
